New Program At Emerging Minds

We are excited to announce a new behaviour intervention program at Emerging Minds: Parent Partnership Intervention! This program will be for children between the ages of 1 and 6 who have been diagnosed with autism. In a Parent Partnership Intervention, parents will act as partners with the Emerging Minds team to provide the necessary intensive therapy for a child with autism. In the program, your child will begin to receive a minimum of 7 hours per week of one on one therapy with an educator therapist. Upcoming Event – Autism Walk on May 31st

Emerging Minds will be participating in the Autism Walk on May 31st to raise money for Autism Speaks. Walkers and supporters can gather at the Carleton University Fieldhouse.  This event is a lot of fun and you never know who you might see.

Autism and Financial Planning – A Summary

From the feedback we’ve received from parents, our Autism and Financial Planning Conference was a big success. There was a lot of information from the different professionals. Donna Neff explained why it is so critical to have one’s will in order when there is a special needs child to consider. Although no one likes to think about it, a child with autism will likely need specialized care if something happens to his or her parents. Any guardian who is selected should understand and agree to the responsibility.
