Melissa Nyveld

Developmental and Behavioural Support Specialist

Melissa Nyveld, MSc. (Neuroscience); BA Hon. (Developmental Psychology) has over fifteen years experience working with autistic children, youth, and their families throughout the region.  She has been a part of the Emerging Minds family since 2009 and is dedicated to fostering and celebrating neurodiversity.  She is known for out-of-the-box thinking, and infectious laughter!  She has research experience in the clinical outcomes of neurodevelopmental disorders (ASD, ADHD, Schizophrenia), and uses her research expertise to apply evidence-based intervention strategies in her behaviour therapy.  She has experience working within a variety of therapy treatment models, including ESDM (Early Start Denver Model), ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy).

Under the supervision of Dr. Korneluk, Melissa will be providing treatment to adolescents and adults.  She is particularly interested in working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

When not at work, Melissa loves to spend time with her family, her animals, or enjoy painting.
